El Carmen Church
The project was passed to Victor Mendez by Leonel Aviles and Ivo Osegueda. The challenge was the restriction of an existing lot. The church needed to be expanded; the requirements were: to have a modern church with emphasis in daylight; bedrooms for the priests; incorporation of an interior garden; a small chapel embedded in the main auditorium and a parking lot. Victor Mendez applied principles of the Bauhaus School and Le Corbusier. The construction was coordinated by Leonel Aviles and Ivo Osegueda; some modifications were applied to the original design.
