City Of Tayasal
It was a design required by the Mayor of the City of Flores in El Peten, Guatemala. Architect Victor Hernandez dean for the Architecture Faculty, approached Architects Victor Quan, Victor Mendez and the last-year students enrolled in Urban Design II, to accept the challenge. Architects Victor Quan and Victor Mendez coordinated the research and data collection for the spatial analysis of the available land. The initial design was estimated for 25,000 habitants. The new city zones were:: Habitational, Commercial, Goverment, Educational, Health, Farms, Tourism and Archeological.
